Take Time for the Time Out Challenge

Excited to be a guest designer for the Time Out Challenges blog. Here is the inspiration for you to play along with Challenge 246. Inspired by words, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

For this challenge I wanted to create a peaceful tree centric scene. Some light stencil work using Simon Says Stamp Clouds for Days and My Favorite Things Drifts and Hills set the landscape background for my tree.

I combined a few other stamp sets to create my tree scene. The images are from Stampendous and Colorado Craft Company. Stampendous Tree Swing cling rubber stamp and Tiny Birds Worm, Well Loved (bear), & Birdbath Friends (sentiment) stamps from Colorado Craft Company.

Notice the tree limb extending past the left edge of the Spellbinders Nestabilities die shape? All you need to do is a bit of fussy cutting to pop that area outside of the die before running it through your die machine.

Leave any parts to extend outside the die edge on top of the die, away from the cutting edge, before you cut.
Ah, relax with me under the tree…

How are you inspired? Don’t forget there are prizes and bragging rights up for grabs over at Time Out!

This challenge is sponsored by Varada Sharma. There will be 2 challenge winners, one randomly drawn and one chosen by the Time Out Design Team.

Challenge winners will each receive a $15.00 store credit to spend at the Varada Sharma Shop. The winner chosen by the Design Team will also receive an offer to Guest Design for a future challenge.

So take time to check out the blog, read the guidelines, see other inspiring cards, and link up your fantastic design by September 13th at Time Out Challenges!

What I am admiring on your card is the subtle color and texture in the background, the branches coming out trick and your story book like coloring! The texture you added to the card base with embossing, PP and ribbon adds so much and I love the die you used for your little scene. A perfect make for our IBW challenge.
