Love Ya!

My Valentines are finally complete.  Whew.

Yep, I made a lot of them… the charity bake sale at work will have quite a selection, hopefully about half will find homes.  I often feel like they are my little stray pets, and sometimes I treat them like that.  For the card featured today, I think this little stray could get picked up quickly since it has that special cute factor.

I’m including my sweet little panda card in the Embossing Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.  While this card trades open white space for red space, it is still simple in its construction.  For my embossing feature, I used heat embossing.  White embossing powder heat set on black card stock seems to be the best way for me to get a nice crisp white on black image.  Well, maybe it’d be more honest to say it is the only way I can do it.  My white pigment ink skills are poor.  I always tend to smudge, so instead I simply use detailed white embossing powder on the image stamped with Versamark.

For just a few other details, the products I used include stamps from Unity Stamp Co. (Plenty of Pandas), Stampin’ Up! (Just Sayin’),  dies and punches from Stampin’ Up and EK Success, Femme Frames die from Mama Elephant, and a paper doily (pretty sure it’s actually a Wilton cake doily… I grabbed some in the grocery store one day on impulse to use for crafts).

Look for my gallery of completed Valentines on Friday’s post.  I’ll update the post Saturday to let you know how many homeless, stray cards found new homes.

Happy stamping, everyone!

  1. Hi JK. This is bound to be snapped up at the sale … it has an extra dose of cuteness with that adorable panda. 🙂 Love the doily background, sweet little heart embelly, and speech bubble — great design. Thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers.
